COMMERCIAL PROJECTS

DEWA Data Hub (MORO Hub) is a state of the art technical facility currently occupied by
Data Hub Integrated Solutions L.L.C. (MORO) a subsidiary fully owned by Dubai
Electricity and Water Authority. The facility comprises of a Basement, G+M+3 Office Building,
G+1 Data Center, Chiller Yard, Generators Building, Substation Building, Interlock
Internal/external Roads, Boundary Wall and Guard Room. The basement level is
occupying the whole allocated plot area and is used for parking, LV room, chiller rooms,
electrical rooms, pump rooms and storage rooms. The Data Center and office building
are designed and built to accommodate for future expansions. By utilizing latest building
and data technologies, the project team was successful to obtain LEED Platinum
Certification for Green Buildings, Tier 3 Up-time Certification for Data Centers and is
currently undergoing STARS certification for the same. The overall building footprint area
is 20,000 m² as detailed below:
Office building of 4,600 m² – 3 storey: This facility is able to house 200+ people,
served by an indirect expansion cooling system, comprising two water cooled chillers
redundant in a 1+1 configuration in association of their cooling towers, cooling tower
pumps and chilled water pumps. The facility is as well supported with two backup
generators of 1000KVA each, one is serving the offices and their electrical distribution
and the other serves the cooling and plumbing system of the building.

Data center of 3,700 m² - 2 Storey: The Data Center is designed, executed and
certified up to TIER III uptime institute standards. Phase 1 comprises of 120 Racks which
accommodate roughly half of the available space within the ground floor data hall, each
rack supporting an average of 4.5kW/rack. The facility is cooled as of phase 1 with an
indirect expansion cooling system, comprising two water cooled chillers redundant in a
1+1 configuration in association of their cooling towers, cooling tower pumps and chilled
water pumps, with a thermal storage capacity of 10 mins. The Facility is completely
supported by two generators 1850 KVA in a 1+1 configuration. The same is ready to
take/support the critical load, synchronize, the critical cooling system up in case of failure
in the Utility, and will support the critical load without interruption in order not to affect the
operation of the critical facility.
